A Kent resident received an unsolicited telephone call in which he was asked to confirm his PIN number. The caller knew the householder's other personal and banking details.
Kent Trading Standards advise consumers to be wary of unsolicited telephone calls. Be very wary of giving banking or personal details out over the phone unless you absolutely certain you know who you are speaking to.
Unsolicited marketing calls can be restricted by registering with the telephone preference service by calling 020 7291 3320 or registering on line at www.tpsonline.org.uk.
