As part of a new wave of training sessions within Kent, 19th January will be the first of a series with an exciting new format!
Season Prater as Kent Development Officer wants to see more targeted training, more locally to people in Kent, and hopefully make it a little more interesting and fun along the way. On 19th January Folkestone and Hythe will be hosting a doorstep canvassing training session, with Euro candidate Catherine Bearder to help along the way.
The session will start at 10am (arrive from 9:30am for coffee) and will include some theory training in the warm. Once we've learnt the theory it's time to put it into practice. Catherine Bearder is an experienced campaigner and will then take the group out on to the streets in Hythe to start to use the skills just learnt. As with all Lib Dem campaigning sessions it will then finish with refreshments in a local hostelry!
This session is not just for people who have never canvassed before. Even experienced canvassers can learn something from this kind of training - working with new people, in a different area and with someone like Catherine to give some advice and support. And for new canvassers going out in a group and not alone is in invaluable way to start canvassing, knowing there is someone at the bottom of the path to share experiences with.
If you are interested in coming along, please contact Season Prater on 07956 135845 or season@southeastlibdems.org.uk. The session will be held in Shepway Lib Dem's offices: 82a Sandgate High Street, Folkestone, Kent CT20 3BX
