Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Menzies Campbell visited Woking to launch the Woking Lib Dem Manifesto for the Council Elections on May 3rd to a large turnout of Councillors, Party Members and supporters.
Accompanied by Kingston MP Ed Davey MP, PPC Rosie Sharpley and Leader of the Council Cllr Sue Smith there was a special surprise for the Leader when young actors from Knaphill based Peer Productions gave a performance of street theatre with a theme of how crime affects young people. Talking to the young people afterwards he expressed his admiration for the work the youngsters do to help excluded young people and was impressed by the "understanding and imagination they showed" They told him they had written and directed the work themselves.
Sir Ming went on to outline the Lib Dem approach to crime saying that the party believed "in tackling crime by being smarter rather than tougher and being innovative and imaginative rather than stalling"
